In the summer of 2010, Joshua Mash was a solo musician playing gigs throughout New York City under the name Shilo Andrews. Previously touting an acoustic hip-hop vibe, Mash set out to revamp his sound. After being invited to jam in a studio with a friends band Josh set out to change his sound, switching his main instrument from guitar to keyboard and selling the guitar that gave him his first New York musical moments to pay for the Roland Gaia keyboard that would stylize his new sound. Six months later, after resounding feedback from family and friends, Josh had a 4-song demo and set out to complete the sound.

Silas Fermoy’s sound became more abstract and full adding live drums, a double keyboard, and multiple bass effects. Josh’s songwriting skirts the line between fiction and autobiography, weaving narratives together and creating a story that expands from one song to the next.

Drawing on diverse influences such as Radiohead, The Antlers, Arcade Fire, Beirut, The National, and Little Dragon, Silas Fermoy ventured into The End studio to create what would become his highly anticipated debut release, Chapters. With fans at heart, Silas Fermoy released three songs from the upcoming EP for free download on his social networks.

Teaming up with producer Jason Cummings of The Cutting Room Studios Silas Fermoy is now working on a new EP due out in the winter of 2014.
