When the scale in my relationship started to weigh a little too heavy on my end I started to feel like a nurse in an Asylum, taking care of a child who had no real issue other than feeling misunderstood by the world and therefore creating her own world to escape into. She'd walk the asylum at night while everyone was asleep and paint the walls a beautiful liquid blue color in her mind. I gave her the fictional name "Annabelle" and wrote about my pain in seeing her like this, but also seeing the beauty in the worlds she would envision, and sometimes jumping into them myself.
